BOOM!

Synopsis
When purple popsicles can no longer soothe Tamara’s pain, she prays to the Great JB for guidance. To her surprise, He answers. Through the power of magic, Tamara and her friends embark on an epic journey. Together, they fight off the shadows that have overtaken Tamara’s mind.

Will this be their last hurrah? Or, will these teens find a way to stay connected beyond the confines of a computer lab?

Development History
The first draft of BOOM! was written with the support of Tarragon Theatre’s Young Playwrights Unit (YPU) under the co-direction of Paula Wing and Caitie Graham. The reading was directed by Lisa Karen Cox, and presented on Saturday, June 1, 2019 in Tarragon Theatre’s Workspace. The cast was Meghan Aguirre, Brianna Wright, Rosina Ferede and Alyssa Pothier.

Production History
BOOM! was first produced for the 2022 Paprika Festival in partnership with Rose Coloured Theatre and Obsidian Theatre. It premiered at the Aki Studio on May 19th with the following cast and crew:
