Túpac o 2Pac (working title)

Synopsis
Túpac o 2Pac (working title) is inspired by poet and rapper, Tupac Amaru Shakur. He was named after Túpac Amaru II, an Incan leader who led the largest rebellion in South American history. Both men were leaders, both men used their voices to enact social and political change, and both men died gruesome deaths as a result of war. As a way to honour them I want to write a story that explores their similarities and their differences. As an Afro-Peruvian person, born and raised in Canada, these two characters are an opportunity for me to bring my two worlds together.

Development History
Túpac o 2Pac’s writing journey will begin with Driftwood Theatre in April of 2025 at The Gillespie House Playwrights Retreat led by Caitie Graham.
