QUINCE

Synopsis
Quince is a play with music that follows the journey of Gabriella, a gender non-comforming teen who is about to celebrate their 15th birthday, their quince, in front of the entire family. But instead of becoming a woman, they are haunted by a loss that prevents them from undergoing celebration all-together. This play is about how grief doesn't just go away with a smile. We must confront it in order to move forward.

Development History
The first draft of Quince was written in 2020 with the support of Shakespeare in the Ruff’s YRAP Digital Playwriting Program under the direction of Makram Ayache.
